Farewell & Thank You Dinner

The Muslim Primary Education Board recently gathered to honour years of dedicated service of two exceptional educators whose dedication has shaped the lives of many of our pupils and strengthened our educational community.

Mr Sean McCarthy – Deputy Principal

After 29 years of distinguished service at the Muslim National School Clonskeagh, Mr Sean McCarthy has retired, leaving behind a legacy of leadership, compassion, and unwavering commitment to educational excellence. Throughout his tenure as Deputy Principal, Mr McCarthy demonstrated exceptional dedication to ensuring every child received the support they needed to succeed. His pioneering work in the area of special educational needs has been transformative, championing inclusive practices and ensuring that students of all abilities could flourish within our school community. For nearly three decades, Mr McCarthy has been a pillar of support for students, families, and staff alike, and his impact will be felt for generations to come.

Mr McCarthy looks forward to a well-earned retirement filled with travel and new adventures.

Mr Eoin Walsh  – Principal

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr Eoin Walsh, who has served as Principal of the Northside Muslim Primary School for 14 years. Under Mr Walsh's leadership, the school has experienced remarkable growth and transformation. He was instrumental in driving significant increases in student enrollment, while successfully leading the school through a complex transition to its current premises. Perhaps most notably, Mr Walsh played a vital role in navigating the intricate process of engaging with the Department of Education to secure the purchase of a site for a new school build—a milestone achievement that will benefit generations of students to come. His strategic thinking, determination, and ability to manage multifaceted challenges have left an indelible mark on the school's trajectory and the wider community.

Mr Walsh will be continuing his educational career closer to home, and we wish him every success in this new chapter.

The dinner was attended by Imam Yahya Al-Hussein and the members of the Muslim Primary Education Board, who joined us in expressing our deep appreciation for Mr McCarthy and Mr Walsh years of service, leadership, and friendship.

As they embark on new chapters in their lives, we wish them continued success, good health, and fulfillment. Their contributions to Muslim education in Ireland will not be forgotten.

With gratitude and best wishes,
The Muslim Primary Education Board
